Jai Kisan - Crystal Training Camp
Project Jai Kisan was organised by Crystal in 108 districts of the country in October 2012 to educate and spread awareness among the farming community on the judicious usage of pesticides.

With more than 60% of the population still dependent on agriculture, its role and importance is of significant value to Indian economy and for all other industries in India.  Mahatma Gandhi once said that India lives in its villages and how true was Bapu in stating the obvious fact about India of then and India of now. Agriculture has been and would remain the most important segment in the Indian context.

Committed towards working along with its partners of growth and development of the Indian farming community; Crystal initiated the project “JAI KISAN” on the occasion of 143rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and 108th birth anniversary of Late Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri on 2nd October 2012, the visionaries who were the pioneers of farmer development and gave a vision for India in form of - “JAI JAWAN JAI KISAN”;

The project JAI KISAN was executed from 2nd October 2012 to 1st November 2012, during which we successfully organised 108 Farmer training camps with an objective to educate the farmers about Safe use of agro-chemicals, Nutrition & Fertilizer Management and Spray technology.

The farmer meets were conducted in different zones; north 39, south 25, east 7 and west 37. Each meet saw more than 150 famers participating and discussing on issues pertaining to safe usage of agro-chemicals, nutrition related issues and spray technology interventions.

The training camps were organised in association with our partners in agriculture development; AEO, DDA and DO from states agriculture departments, Professors and HOD’s of reputed agriculture universities.

The meets were successfully conducted and educated approx. 12,000 framers across India. During the training camps farmers appreciated the Concept of 4R , i.e Right Chemical, Right dosage, on Right time and in Right method of application.

The project was another initiative by Crystal group towards helping the farming community looks forward to continue our humble contribution to the development of farming community and Indian agriculture in coming times.

Chitrakala Mahotsav - A special painting competition for the differently abled

Crystal  in association with the Delhi based NGO Deepalya organized the Chitrakala Mahatosav for specially abled children on the occasion of Teachers day. The competition was conducted at the Special Unit of the NGO at Okhla as a part of the CSR activity of the company. 

Around 70 children participated in the competition and the theme of the painting competition was the 'Festivals of India' and 'Seasons in India'.

Through such activities Crystal would like  acknowledge that the challenged ones are an equal and important part of the community and as corporate citizens we should  provide these children a platform where they can showcase their skills. As a responsible citizen of the country every individual should come forward and help these children to  get the same exposure as the other kids of the society. Public Private Participation

Public Private Participation
Crystal Group  joined hands with Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on a Public Private Partnership Program aimed at aiding the  enhancement of rice productivity in India . This project was implemented in northern India initially. After the success of the project, Crystal looks to take up the program across various other crop systems in India.
The Joint venture was announced through a workshop that was organized from 25th-30th April 2010.The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Harish Rawat Minister of Hon. State Minister of Labour & Employment. Other renowned scientists from ICAR also were present including Dr. C. D. Mayee Chairman ASRB, Dr. K. D. Kokate DDG Agi Extension, Dr. R. B. Singh Ex- Chairman Farmer Commission. Various scientist’s from State Agriculture universities and KVK’s had also attended the conference and shared their experience with regards to Public Partnership in Agriculture.

The need for such Public private participation was emphasized by all dignitaries and their contribution for betterment of agriculture and Indian farmers were acknowledged by all participants.

As per this program Crystal Group laid down 20 yield demonstration plots in Punjab, 16 in Haryana and 20 in Uttar Pradesh beside farmer plots for comparison. Crystal provided complete technical inputs as well trained farmers on good practices for, seed treatment, fertilizer application, irrigation and pesticides schedule as well as right spray technology, for company adopted plots. Comparisons where made against farmer plots so that the better yield due to correct practices could be exhibited to the farmers .These plots were also visited and evaluated by ICAR Scientists. The aim of the project was to convey the message to the farmer on the right used technology to increase crop productivity..

Crystal Conducts blood donation camps in association with Lions Blood Bank. The blood donation camp was driven internally and saw more than 120 employees donating blood voluntarily making it a huge success. Crystal supports blood donation as an important humanitarian activity and  emphasizes it as a responsibility of each human being, thus helping  patients who need blood especially accident victims, thalassaemia, cancer, chronic diseases, premature babies, patients with blood disorders as well as those who are about to undergo surgeries. The camp was a part of ‘Corporate Social Responsibility program, initiated by Crystal.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ankur Aggarwal, MD – Crystal pointed out that donating blood is our responsibility to society and he was happy that large number of employees responds so positively for such events.”
